Human Services Resource Assistant

This is a full time (40 hours per week) position with medical, dental, and vision benefits, Mon-Fri, flexible schedule based on the needs of the business. Pay: $16 per hour.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Meet with artists to make their artistic goal for the year

  • Write and implement individual service plans

  • Lead yearly service plan meetings with clients, family members, and service coordinators

  • Substitute for absent art aide teaching art as needed

  • Understand and model self-advocacy.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • A.A. Degree in Human Resources related field or at least 3 years experience in the field of developmental disabilities required.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Organized and systematic in doing several different tasks in a relatively short time.

  • Track record of advocacy and person centered thinking approach.

  • Proficient in computer and internet use, email, scan, presenting and filing reports or other documentation.


Drawing and Painting Instructor

This is a full time (33 hours per week) position with medical, dental, and vision benefits, Tues-Sat, flexible schedule based on the needs of the business. Pay: $17 per hour.

Position Responsibilities:

  • 80% of time is spent assisting artists 1-on-1 in a variety of artistic media.

  • 10% of time is spent leading structured workshops for the public.  

  • 10% of time is spent problem-solving teaching strategies with the team, researching new art techniques, writing curriculum, and writing daily progress notes.

Position Requirements:

  • BA in art or strong background in painting and drawing with formal art training required.

  • Teaching experience strongly preferred.

  • People-skills and team-player attitude required.

  • Previous experience in Human Services Field preferred.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Tuesday-Saturday 33 hours per week; flexible schedule based on needs of the business. This position works 7/8 hours/day on Tues-Fri at our South Sac studio and 4 hours on Saturday at our Country Club studio. Instructors may teach classes and/or workshops or lead open studio in other locations as needed.


Sacramento Art Aide/Mobility Trainer

This is a full time (36 hours per week) position with medical, dental, and vision benefits, Monday-Friday, flexible schedule (occasional Sat work) based on the needs of the business. Pay: $13 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • 80% of time is spent teaching art techniques 1-on-1 to artists.

  • 10% of time spent training and assisting participants with regional transit

  • 10% of time is spent problem-solving teaching strategies with the team, researching new art techniques, and writing daily progress notes.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in painting, drawing, ceramics, crafts, or digital art required.

  • Comfort with regional transit (buses, light rail, maps, etc) required

  • Teaching experience strongly preferred.

  • People-skills and team-player attitude required.

  • Previous experience in Human Services Field preferred.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Adaptive Skills Trainer

Southside Unlimited has an opening in their Passage Programs for Adaptive Skills Trainer's (AST) who support and train adults with developmental disabilities & behavioral challenges in a community based setting. AST's provide support with life skills, behavioral support training, job development and training, creative problem solving, and teamwork. Passage is an individualized program with positions available in our Sacramento/Elk Grove/Galt location

(Passage program staff work between sites located in Sacramento, Elk Grove, and Galt) and our Auburn locations. We offer a positive working environment and ongoing training.

Southside Passage Program is looking for individuals who:

Qualifications:
• Be familiar in working with adults with developmental disabilities, such as Intellectual Disability, Autism, Downs Syndrome, etc.
• Be familiar working with individuals who communicate through behavioral excesses
• Applicants must have a clear DMV printout and a reliable insured vehicle which they will use to transport participants with mileage reimbursement
• Minimum 1 year experience with individuals with behavioral challenges preferred
• Some college preferred, though experience in lieu of formal education is accepted
• Knowledge of and access to computer and internet/email access required to transmit daily, weekly, and yearly reporting and paperwork

Adaptive Skills Trainers work M-F, between the hours of 8:30-4, 36 hours/week (hour each day determined by site).

Position pays $15.00 per hour. Excellent health insurance benefits, on the 1st of the month after the first 60 days of employment. We offer dental, paid time off and holiday benefits. EOE.
